On Respect

Posted by prajjwald on October 28, 2011

I often believe that too many people are blind to all but themselves, and see the world through the filter of their own projections.  Unfortunately, those projections are but the lies they told themselves or were told by others that taught them how to compromise with themselves.  Not wanting to go against the flow, they also manipulated other peoples projections into their own lives, giving them new inward appearances through their own insecure projections.

What does this have to do with respect?  I respect the few people I come across who are truly kind.  To me, kindness signifies freedom from the delusion of the lies we tell ourselves, an ability to see others as we see ourselves, and to be kind to them, as we have learned to be kind to ourselves in the process of self-acceptance.  I respect them because they respect other people for their humanity.

I certainly look forward to meeting more of this kind of people in life.
